"I need to talk to you for a second Jade." Adam said but not giving any eye contact with either of us. His words came old cold and dry. I was still sitting beside Hayden and hesitated whether to follow him or not. Adam then gave me one of his cold stares; like a power forcing me to do what he says. I stood up and follow him as he lead me out of the back door.
"What's up? You okay?" I asked, nervously.
"Yeah, everything's good." Suddenly his voice became soft again. This was weird so I put my hands on his shoulders, push his hair clear out of his forehead and gaze deeply into those hazel eyes. Adam bit his lip hesitantly.
"What? Something's not right. I know it. What is it that you wanna talk about?" I asked again, still holding his shoulders. He took his eyes away from mine and look at the street where a lot of people were walking past us; going in and out of the shopping mall, kids screaming and laughing joyfully. He still didn't say a word and put his hand in his back pocket of his black skinny jeans. I noticed his grey VANS were dirty and he's got eye bags under his eyes. It's as if he hasn't been sleeping for days. "You look tired. Why did you brought me here? I was on my way to Mandy's until you showed up," I said, "and you look really tired. Do you wanna go?"
"No." Adam muttered under his breath and sighed deeply. He closed his eyes and shrugged. Again, he let out another deep sigh. He turned to look at me and frowned. His mouth were open but words didn't came out. Adam was muttering something so soft that I couldn't hear what he said because of the murmuring of people on the street. "I wanna stay but," he paused, looking for the right words to explain and continued, "but I don't like it, I don't like seeing you with Hayden. It hurts." Those were his exact words that made my jaw dropped. I let go of his shoulder and this time, it was my turn to sigh. What does he mean by that? What is he trying to say? I thought to myself. Then I realized that there were two people waiting for us in the coffee shop.
I didn't know what to say. "Lets go back in, I reckon both of them are waiting for us." I gave him a smile and took his hand and pulled him back into the shop. The coffee machines made whirring and chugging noises. The faint sound of people muttering softly inside the shop made the place seemed so quite and peaceful. We both came back and saw Hayden and Sierra were talking, flirting. I felt like I was being punched by someone in the stomach when I saw them being so friendly together.

If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.
