Reality, Fate & Destiny- Part 6

#6

"Well, come on in," Adam gestured, inviting me in. I looked at him, a bit concerned.
"Don't worry you little nut. Mom's in the kitchen. God," he sighed and rolled his eyes. He went in ahead, leaving me at the door.
I cleared my throat, "Er.. dude? Little help?" I called.
"Oh yeah, I forgot your knee," he replied and rushed towards me. He took my arm and put it around his neck. He helped me. As we were walking, I looked at him and smile. I studied his face carefully; his mountain shaped nose were pale white; his chapped eyebrows matched his hair colour; his curvy lips were light red with the little piercing on the left of his bottom lip; his black hair covered his beautiful hazel, almond shaped eyes. I was admiring my best friend. The one person whom I can't live without, ever. I snapped back into the present when Adam flickered me on my forehead.
"Ow! What was that for?" I asked him.
"It's rude to stare at people Jade," he grinned and then gave me a cheeky wink.
"Sit down. I'll get you a bandage," he said leaving me all by myself in his living room. It's been ages since I came to his house.

Well, that's because he never really invites me or Mandy over. Only if we have to do our schoolwork or when his mom are doing a small posh-nosh party. Adam also comes from a pretty rich family. His mom were pretty much like Mandy's parents.

I looked around my surroundings; his living room were quite big. He's got a 52 inch TV glued to the wall with two big stereo on the side, his sofa were big and comfy. The colour is yellow, but it's faded with floral pattern. It looked old but the smell was as fresh as a daisy. I noticed a portrait of Adam and his parents. Adam was an only child. His dad died when he was 15. He's been living with his mom ever since. He loved her and he is very protective of her. I turned my head to the left and found a picture frame on a round wooden table. There's some sort of a flowery pattern carved on the side of the table. It was rather beautiful. The picture frame's empty. That's peculiar I thought to myself. I placed it back to where I found it beside the old antique table lamp. Ding.. ding.. the grandfather clock chimed. It was 2 p.m.

I looked up above my head and stared at the ceiling that had some sort of a painting. How can someone like Adam who loves hardcore music, who plays 'em can live in a palace like this; like an old museum? I thought to myself. I hummed the song 'Careful' by Paramore. Because I've been friends with Mandy and Adam for a long time, I listen to the same type of music they do. But I do enjoy listening to piano pieces and classical music, it calms me.

"Just a little more.. more..-" I sang quietly but somehow Adam heard me and continued,
"You gotta reach out, can't reach out just a little more," he smirked with the First-Aid kit in his right hand. He sauntered towards me and bend down using his knee to make himself balanced. He took my leg slowly, gently.
"Ow.." I groaned painfully.
"This will just hurt a little bit you nut," he warned me.
"Why do you keep calling me 'little nut'?" I asked him since he was always calling me that. Slowly, he wiped the dry blood away that were painted on my knee. He smiled to himself while doing it. I thought he was going to make fun of me again about how clumsy I was.

"You wanna know why?" he said suddenly while putting on a small rectangular bandage on my cut.
"There, all better," as he patched it on my knee. He stared at it for quite sometime. He had that look again in his eye; filled with guilt and dissapointment.
"Adam? You okay sweetie?" I slowly leaned in forward to look at him straight in the eyes.
"You know you can tell me anything right?" I told him, putting a half smile on my face.
