"Come on Mandy, pick up." I muttered to myself waiting for her to pick up the phone as I strolled down the empty road. The sun was blazing warm, I started to sweat. There was no answer. I sighed with dissapointment. Maybe she's still sleeping, that's why she couldn't pick the phone up, I thought. I jogged a little bit and then I tripped on a stone causing me to fall and my phone flew over my head. I screamed, "Fuck! Fuck fuck fuck!" and then my knee bled. "Why is this happening to me?!" I shrieked and hit the stony, hard pathway with the side of my palm. I put my head between my leg and sobbed. One, because my knee was bleeding badly and no one was there to lend me a hand. Two, my phone is somewhere over the other side of the road which is probably broken. Mandy's house was still far ahead so it's difficult for me to walk especially with my condition right now.
I was surprised no one heard me screamed. The houses on the side of the road was empty, as if it has been abandoned for hundred of years. I scanned around, hoping someone'll notice me. But nobody were there.
I thought if I turn around and go back to my house, my mom will start asking me questions. I hate it when she ask me questions. Then suddenly, something crossed my mind; Adam's house was just a few streets ahead. Should I go? Slowly, I picked myself up. I stumbled and fell on my backside once again. With a deep sigh, I gave up. I stare down at the dusty, stony pathway and sobbed softly. The street was empty and quiet. I crawled slowly towards the direction where my phone had landed. "Oh no.." I muttered slowly staring at the broken device. I can't believe how delicate something can be. I shut my eyes and breathe slowly.
"You okay?" a voice called from behind. I opened my eyes and turned my head around to find, a tall-broad shouldered guy offering me his hand. "Adam?" I smiled, looking up, wiping my tears away. He returned me a light smile as I took his big hand gently. He helped me up on my feet, like he always does. He was wearing a white shirt which has a print on it that says 'Go Hard or Go Home!'. The shirt fitted his body perfectly; it wasn't too big and it wasn't too small. His straight black hair covered his eyes but I still managed to stare at his beautiful brown eyes. "Oh My God! What were you doing Jade?! You clumsy little nut! Look at your knee!" Adam shouted angrily at me. I took my eyes away from his and sniffed. "I-I-was trying to get to Mandy's but I-" he cut me from finishing my sentence and hugged me. The way he hugged me was as if he was apologising to me but he didn't say a word. I was surprised and speechless. "Be careful next time. Please." his voice sounded so smooth when he whispered it in my ear.
I smiled and hugged him back. I was glad that we weren't fighting anymore. He let go of me slowly and said "I'm sorry I didn't pick up the phone. I was at Hayden's studio, practising. We have a gig coming up so we have to practise." "It's okay." I replied softly. The street was so quite that I could hear the wind whistle. Suddenly, my knee didn't hurt anymore.
"Come over to my house. We'll get you all sorted out and then we can go over to Mandy's together." he grinned at me. I bit my lip and nodded. I put my arm around his shoulder and limped. Adam burst into laughter all of a sudden and I raised one brow up. "What?" I said curiously trying to figure out what was so funny. "Clumsy little nut." he tutted and winked at me. I rolled my eyes and hit his stomach with my left hand, "If my knee wasn't bleeding right now, I would so kick you." I told him. He chuckled as we were walking; well him walking and me limping down the road. "What?!" I screamed. A pack of cloud covered the blistering sun, the cool wind blew. "It's not bleeding anymore you little nut!" Adam laughed. I glanced at my knee; it wasn't bleeding anymore.
I rolled my eyeballs up, down, left and right awkwardly and attempted to whistle but failed badly. This made Adam laughed even more and I joined him.

If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.
