We both woke up late the next day and me and Freddie both had big grins on our faces. We didn't sleep together, of course, but we did stay up late watching DVDs, listened to music and just talk. Everything was perfect but I really liked the talk part. When we put on a movie called 'The Christmas Shoe,' I couldn't help but cry because it was my family's favorite Christmas movie and there was a special memory behind it. It was Freddie's idea to play the movie because he said he was in a 'Christmas mood' even though Christmas is six or seven months away.
He didn't cry but he did put his arm around me when I did. That made me happy. The movie ended around two thirty a.m. and after the movie, we decided to talk. And it wasn't even an awkward talk but it was a nice talk, that kind of talk where you didn't want it to end. I sniffed and told him that I cry every time I watch the movie because it was special to me. He nodded and held me tighter and made me cry even harder for some reason. He didn't asked me any questions like, 'why is it special?' and all. He knew that it was kind of personal so he didn't asked anything and he shushed me.
"What's the matter?" he whispered directly into my ears. My tears kept falling like raindrops which was stupid but I didn't know why I was crying that much. I guess it was the movie, or maybe it was just me. It was a beautiful moment for me though, we were both sitting on the sofa with our legs curled up to our chest, we shared a big blanket and his arm around me. It was all perfect. The room was lit with only a lamp table that Bob had put right next to the sofa in case he couldn't sleep and would just read books.
"God, I don't even know why I'm crying," I chuckled and sniffed. He brushed my tears away with his thumb.
"It's cool, I kinda like it," Freddie whispered and tilted my head. We were both gazing into each other's eyes and I looked horrible but I didn't care. "God, you're so beautiful," he said and leaned in to kiss me.
As much as I wanted to kiss him back, I pressed my finger against his lips and mouthed 'stop.' He smiled, but not a full smile because he knew it would be wrong if he kissed me. Instead, he gave me a peck on my forehead and that made me really happy.
"If Annie or my dad finds out that we're still awake, I am so dead," I told him and he giggle.
"What would your folks do to me then?" he asked jokingly.
"I dunno, maybe turn you into a stew or something. Or maybe even a shish kebab." I joked back, "A Freddie kebab." I laughed and he laughed.
"You know, I've never had a special moment like this with Tara before," he admitted.
"Really?" I asked and was quite surprised. "Why? - if you don't-don't mind me asking," I asked politely.
"Of course I mind," he snapped and looked at me fiercely.
"You do? I'm sorry," I said apologetically and looked afraid. He then laughed so hard I had to cover his mouth. "Why are you laughing? I'm sorry I asked!" I said and then he smiled.
"I was joking!" he said and hugged me. "It's funny how you panicked," he giggled. I gasped sheepishly and pushed him away. "I'm sorry," he was still chuckling. "Well, it's because she's always so busy y'know. Partying, drinking, shopping and God knows what else. We never even really talk much about anything and that actually kinda saddens me. It's fucked but y'know, I don't really care anymore," Freddie sighed and stare into space.
"You don't? Well why not?" I asked him.
He shooked his head and shrugged. "Maybe because she only care about me when she wants-" he paused and looked at me shyly, or embarrassed. I couldn't tell.
"Wants what?"
"Y'know..." he said, "sex." My eyes widened and felt sick a little. Not because of the fact that he had sex but because of he actually said it to me. I gulped and looked at him attempt to put a smile on my face. I had mixed emotions about it and couldn't help but stare at him. Not in disgust; not in dissapointment but in shock. I wasn't shock that he's not a virgin anymore but I don't know why, I was just shock. Maybe because it was a girl should never just wants a boy for lust. Maybe that's why I was in shock, not because of Freddie but because of Tara.
We had grin on our faces because we were excited that he was going to move in today. Because we didn't have enough sleep, we felt tired and sleepy. Annie fed us some toast and pancakes and after breakfast, Freddie went home. He said he'll be back around noon and him and his dad could surely use some help. My family already offered our help so it would be much easier for them. He kissed my forehead and said goodbye. I smiled happily when Annie and Bob danced around and sung 'Jenny & Freddie sitting on a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!'
I told them to stop because he already had a girlfriend and they both cooed and awed but not in a sympathetic way but in a teasing way. "Don't worry sweetheart, we think he likes you," and they continued dancing. I shook my head in disbelief and laughed at their reactions when Bob accidently hit the table and groaned. Annie and I laughed and he chased us both. Other than Freddie, no one could ever replace Bob or Annie.
I waited impatiently for Freddie to come back and frankly I actually wanted to meet his dad, Mr Johnson. It was almost noon when I heard a heavy truck tyres screeched and a couple of heavy furnitures fell on each other and men's voices shouting. I peeked through the window and looked down at the next door's lawn. I smiled when Freddie waved at me and asked me to come down.
I ran downstairs quickly and called Bob and Annie and told them that Freddie was there. We all went outside and Bob greeted Mr Johnson with a handshake. "Lucas Johnson, nice to meet you," Mr Johnson introduced himself.
"Bob Williams, nice to meet you."
"Hiya! I'm Annie, Bob's wife," Annie shouted from the door while wiping the plate on her hand and waved at the two men standing in front of me.
"Who's this beautiful girl?" Mr Johnson asked me and offered his hand for me to shook. I shook his hand and introduced myself when he smiled the same lopsided smile as Freddie. Wow, his dad actually looks good for his age I thought.
"Alright dad, keep your hands off of her, she's mine," Freddie said in front of me, Bob, Annie and his dad. Bob and Annie laughed and mouthed 'I told you so,' when Mr Johnson was chuckling. I think he was surprised and so was I. He took my hand and gave me a couple of boxes and asked me to go in his 'new house.' Well, that's what he called it anyway but it wasn't really a new house. After we all settled in, Mr Johnson thanked the truck driver and me and my family for helping out. Annie said that it was no big deal and invited them both for dinner but Mr Johnson had to decline because he said that he was too tired.
"Maybe next time, but thanks for the offer," Mr Johnson told Bob and Annie with a warm and friendly smile. Freddie hugged me tighter than he has ever hugged me before like he'll never see me again when we're neighbors now. I hugged him back and I was ready for whatever teasing that my parents would give me. I was tired too, but it was worth it.

If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.
