I linked my arm around his and we marched down together. We left Mandy's front porch and did the 'Can can' dance. We burst out laughing. This was fun I thought. We walked side to side and then suddenly, he grabbed my hand. I looked at our hands linked together in surprised.
"You have a horrible laugh," I said bitterly.
"You can't whistle!" he stuck his tongue out at me.
So I rolled my eyes and walked ahead leaving him behind. "Hey! Wait up!" he called out at me but I paid no attention and jogged up a bit. He ran and grabbed my waist from behind and whispered,
"Don't leave me," he said. I elbowed his stomach and tried to ran away. I limped quickly away from him but he just walked really fast next to me. I didn't pay any attention to him when he offered me his hands. Suddenly, he walked backwards and winked at me. I rolled my eyes and just continued walking.
"So, where are we going?" he asked me still walking backwards for no reason at all.
"Hm, IDK. Wherever. I don't mind," I said.
I liked walking with him. Just me and him.
"Adam, who do you like? I mean, after you broke up with Sierra like a year ago, you've been single ever since. That's like so magical cos girls love you," I asked him.
He looked at me and frowned. It's like as if the question I just asked him stabbed him in the heart. He looked hurt, his brown hazel eyes gazed into mine and we fell into silence. He stopped walking and stood there, looking up at the sky. He inhaled the fresh air and then exhaled. My eyes never left his eventhough he was staring up at the clouds with different shapes.
"Look at that cloud, it looks like a panda," he said, pointing towards a cloud that looked like a panda bear. "And that one looks like a heart," he said. His voice was deep and hoarsey.
I just stood there and stayed in silence and stare at him. I guess he didn't want to share his secrets with me. He never did anyway so I didn't even bother asking him the same question twice. Still studying at the different shapes of the clouds, he searched for my hand and squeezed it gently. The panda-shaped cloud covered the blistering sun and the wind stirred my long messy hair. Everything was quiet; the neighbourhood, me, him. I tilted my head up and closed my eyes. With his big fingers linked in mine, I felt so calm. So serene. Then, that feelings in my stomach re-appeared.

"Dude, what're you doing?" I laughed but did not shook his hands off. I liked it. He just looked at me and smiled. I felt something in my stomach. A peculiar feeling that I have never felt before. My hands started to sweat so I pulled away from his. I wiped my palms on the side of my shorts and attempted to whistle. He stared at my reaction and guffawed.
