He smiled at me. "Why'd you leave me?! Oh God Adam. You're like a lightning." I laughed trying to catch my breath. Looking at the time on my wrist, we both hurried before Mandy could burst out mad like a bubble. I knocked on the door when we reached at her house. "Mandy! We're here baby." Adam shouted. I could hear her footsteps as she ran to open the door. "Finally! Damn it you guys are always late." "Sorry." I giggled and she invited us in. A peculiar smell was floating in the air when we entered her house and in her doorway. "So.. what do you want us to do?" Adam speaked as Mandy led us to her living room. "Well, I want you to go down the basement and look for my stereo, DJ equipment and set it all up." Mandy comes from a rich family but she didn't like people to know about it. She continued "And you Jade, you can come and help me with the foods and all." I nodded as I followed her downstairs to her kitchen. Her house was big, in her living room there were lots of antiques; chairs, tables, lamps and clock. Like in one of those old British movie. Her parents like all of those things. I still can't believe Mandy is related to them since they were all so posh and she was completely the opposite. Adam left and went to the basement.
Me and Mandy go straight down to the kitchen. I scanned the kitchen and saw that the sink was filled with dirty plates and glasses. "How long has your parents been away? The sink is filthy." I sniggered while pointing at the dirty dishes. She rolled her eyes at me and laughed. "I don't know when they're coming back. I don't give a shit anyways. Even if they die I wouldn't care." She muttered while ripping off the packets of potato chips and put them inside a big bowl. She repeated the same thing twice or three times. "You okay?" I said trying not to sound concern although I was. She never had any love from her parents ever since she was little. Because of the family business, her parents were always busy. I feel sorry for her. "What do you mean? Of course I am. Can you help me take the beers down the basement babe? I already called a few people, they're gonna be here any minute." she smiled as she asked me to go.
I immediately walked out of the kitchen and downstairs into the basement. I found Adam there figuring how to set up the DJ equipment. "Having trouble there?" I said to him smiling and raising my eyebrows. He looked up briefly and found me bending over looking under the table searching for the beers. "They're not under there. It's over there." pointing towards the beers.
"Thanks sir!" I shouted, saluting him not knowing why I did that. Adam stifled with laughter and continued with what he was doing. "People are gonna come any minute now Adam, better hurry up and set that thing up." "Will you give me a hand then?" he said, trying to sound cute. Which was odd of him but I helped anyway. I told him to wait for a second while I go running back up to give Mandy the beers. So when I got back down, I saw him, with the DJ stereo all set up. "Ah, so you did it. Good then you don't need my help." "No! I do need your help. This thing is heavy, help me." we stumbled as we went up the stairs and Adam stopped for a second making the stereo almost fell on me. "Dude! I'm not strong enough to take this up alone. Why'd you stop?" I barked at him. "S-sorry." Adam smiled apologetically at me and we put the stereo in Mandy's living room.
